桜色に染まる信貴山

信貴山朝護孫子寺の桜が見頃を迎えています。

周りの山々も所々ピンクに染まりとても綺麗です。

朝護孫子寺

醍醐天皇の病気平癒のための祈願が行われ、天皇の御病気が平癒したことによって朝廟安穏、守護国土、子孫長久の祈願所として「朝護孫子寺」の名前を賜ることになったそうです。

朝護孫子寺は「信貴山寺」とも呼ばれ、多くの人に親しまれています。

本堂

朝護孫子寺のある大和国信貴山は毘沙門が日本で最初に御出現なさった霊地とされ、毘沙門天王の総本山です。

本堂からの眺めは素晴らしく、斑鳩方面の山々や街並みを一望することができます。また日の出側になるため、毎朝ご来光を拝むことができます。

本堂は1592年豊臣秀吉の再建、または1602年秀頼の再建とする説があり、定かではありません。
1951年（昭和26年）に不慮の火災で焼失し、1958年に再建されています。

秋の紅葉も素晴らしく美しいお寺です。
