紅葉の名所真如寺

真如堂は紅葉の名所として親しまれています。
初めて訪ねましたが本当に素晴らしい紅葉でした。
京都洛東にあり、寒暖の差が美しい紅葉を育むのでしょうね。

真如堂とは

正式には鈴聲山真正極楽寺といい、984年に開かれました。
比叡山延暦寺を本山とする天台宗のお寺です。
「極楽寺と名乗る寺は多いはここが正真正銘の極楽の霊地」という意味を込めて名付けられ、その本堂を表す「真如堂」が通称として定着しました。
特に女性をお救いくださる「うなずきの弥陀」を御本尊に祀っており多くの人々の祈りを受け止めてきました。

本堂

度々の戦火で焼失し、1717年に再建されたどっしりとした本瓦葺の入母屋造です。とても大きくて紅葉が取り囲んで素晴らしい眺めでした。

三重塔

1817年に再建されました。本瓦葺で高さ約30m。紅葉が映えますが、新緑や雪景色も素晴らしいそうです。

法然寺

鎌倉時代に法然が弟子たちと共に六時礼讃行を修行した草庵に由来するそうです。
江戸時代1680年に知恩院の第38世である萬無が法然ゆかりの地に念仏道場を建てることを発願し門弟と共に再興したのが法然院です。
茅葺の山門がとても愛らしく美しいです。

紅葉の名所ですが、青もみじや桜も素晴らしいそうですので次回は春に訪れたいです。
境内は自由に見学できますが、本堂や書院、そして庭は拝観料が必要です。
枯山水の庭も次回は見学したいです。

京都駅からタクシーで約25分
【駐車場】真如堂境内の駐車場は非常に狭いため公共交通機関が便利
